If you're looking for fine dining at a convenient restaurant the whole family will enjoy, Sam's Cafe is the place to go. There are several different dining facilities in the Sam's chain of restaurants, and each of them has its own personality and flavor. For instance, if you are looking for delicious seafood, you can't go wrong with Sam's By the Sea. On the other hand, if you want more of a tropical island feel, head out to Sam's Maui. However, Sam's Cafe serves as a fine dining family restaurant where you can order the kind of home-style cooking you've been dreaming of. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere with music from the fifties and sixties playing through the stereo, and the service is fantastic! The food is also up to par with all of the other Sam's restaurants, which is to say that it is very, very good!

Sam's Cafe also has a variety of weekly specials to keep every visit to the restaurant a unique experience. Their regular menu is also stocked full of delicious home-style meals. Whether you're looking for a big, fat, juicy steak, fresh seafood, an Asian specialty, or pasta, Sam's, as always, has something for everybody. They also have a kids menu with prices ranging from 550 to 850 for a meal.

Sam's Cafe has a good variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and a good number of interesting sounding cocktails. A few recommendations are the Pina Colada, Strawberry Daiquiri and Banaquiri, and Margarita, but there are other very good drinks. These just happen to be my personal favorites. All of them cost 600. They also have the regular assortment of soft drinks as well as six types of beer (Orion Draft, Kirin Draft, Budweiser, Heineken, Corona Extra, and Guinnes Extra Stout--all ranging in price from 500 to 550. If you're looking for something a bit stronger than beer and cocktails, try the long drinks Bacardi and Coke, Tanqueray Tonic, or Long Island Ice Tea. Long drinks cost 650.

Both the drink menu and the dinner menu is extremely affordable. You won't find many places on Okinawa that are quite as affordable for the quality of food you will be served. The restaurant has a great reputation for their steaks and seafood. If you are a steak person, there are a variety of steaks available. Tenderloin Steak goes for 1,650 (small), 1,850 (medium), or 2,100 (large). The Cafe Special Steak sells for 1,380 for a large cut or 1,850 for an extra large cut. The New York Sirloin Large Cut goes for 1,850, Hamburger Steak costs 980, and there are other specialty meals such as the Tenderloin Steak and Stuffed Chicken Cordon Bleu combo (1,890), Tenderloin Steak and Lobster (2,980), or Tenderloin Steak and Shrimp Thermidor (2,450).

If Seafood is more your fitting to your tastes, try the Butter Broiled Shrimp Scampi (1,700), Golden Chunks of Mahi Mahi and Fried Shrimp (1,580), or Island Mahi Mahi Lemon Caper Sauce (1,480). Sam's Cafe also has a variety of Asian specialities including Thai Curry, Mongolian Barbecue, and Chicken or Steak Donburi as well as a variety of Italian Pasta dinners such as Italian Sausage Spaghetti (1,500), Lasagna with meat sauce (1,350), and Seafood Cream Sauce Spaghetti (1,550). Feel like having some home-style American cooking instead? Try the Barbecued Baby Back Ribs (1,950), Stuffed Chicken Cordon Bleu (1,350), Texas Style Meat Loaf (1,300), or Homemade Beef Stew (1,450). No matter what your tastes are, you will be served well at Sam's Cafe.

The restaurant's atmosphere is very cool and casual and the staff are all very friendly. With their excellent service and friendly smiles, the Sam's team will make you feel right at home from the moment you make your entrance. The restaurant is open daily from 5 p.m. to midnight, and the last call is at 11 p.m. Reservations are not required. Sam's Cafe located at the intersection of Camp Foster's Legion Gate and Highway 330. For more information, check out the Sam's Restaurant Group website at www.sams-okinawa.jp.
