USO wants ‘original’ new T-shirt design

Date Posted: 2006-01-27

A contest is under way by the USO Okinawa to create a new T-shirt for use in local programs and events.

USO officials say they’re looking for “a unique, Okinawa-inspired design” to print on the back of white t-shirts. Rules for this year’s contest are pretty simple, and straightforward, according to Shari Jenson, the Director of Programs and Marketing. “It’s simple,” she says. “The designs must be original, tasteful and may not contain anything offensive.” She also says the designs should be related to the USO and must contain the words ‘USO Okinawa’ and the year 2006.

The contest deadline is midnight February 8th. The winner will be selected February 9th, and the winning designer awarded a $100 cash prize and the prestige of winning.

Contest rules are available at the USO Okinawa website: www.uso.org/Okinawa. Further information is available from the Director of Programs and Marketing at email prgrms.oki@uso-pacific.org, or by calling 634-1956.
