Ladies lift taxi driver’s wallet

Date Posted: 2006-01-27

Another taxi driver has been victimized by someone on the base at Camp Foster.

The 57-year-old taxi driver took five women to a club at Camp Foster shortly after midnight Sunday, and started to drive away. He noticed his wallet was missing, and immediately called Military Police and the Ginowan Police Station. He told police the wallet was in the narrow space between the driver and front passenger seats when the five women were in the car.

“There was only $80 in the wallet,” the driver told police. He said he looked for the ladies, but they had already gone into the club. Police are now investigating the incident.

The driver described the woman as two whites and three blacks, saying he had picked them up in front of a dormitory on Camp Foster. One sat in the front seat, while the other four slipped into the back seat for the one kilometer ride. He told police they paid the taxi fare before exiting the vehicle.
