The throaty roar of Harley Davidson motorcycle engines will set the tempo Sunday for the Gate 2 Festival taking place on newly renamed Koza Gate Street.

In a throwback to days past, Okinawa City has renamed Gate 2 Street, taking the area back to a time when the city itself was Koza. The Gate 2 Festival will entertain Sunday afternoon and evening, with events free.

Opening Ceremonies start at 12:45pm, followed by the parade at 1:45pm.

Bikers from across the island will lead the way down Gate 2 Street. Gate 2 Street, now Koza Gate Street, will be closed to traffic noon until 9pm.

Live bands will perform along the newly renamed street. Sounds of High & Mighty Color, All Japan Goís, B-Trippers, Shimaguys and Jet will launch the tunes from the stage on the Gate 2 end of the street, facing Moromi.

Taiko drummers and street dancers will be performing throughout the afternoon, followed at 5pm by amateur and professional wrestling.

Thereís also to be a charity bazaar from 1pm~8pm, raising money for New Orleans hurricane victims, as well as Indian and Pakistani earthquake victims. The bazaar is being run by the Gate 2 ladies group.

Just to the south of Koza Gate Street is Plaza House Shopping Center, the site of an afternoon jazz concert beginning at 3pm. Simply named Gambare New Orleans, itís the cool sounds of todayís jazz.
