Domestic dispute leads to wife beating charges

Date Posted: 2005-10-06

She wanted the furniture arranged a certain way in the apartment.

The husband disagreed. “Isn’t it better it be here,” she asked her husband. “No, it’s not good; the other side is better, so move it,” he responded. Heated words continued, and the husband became upset.

That anger led to a fight, first verbal and then physical. When the man’s rage calmed, he found his wife unconscious on the floor, her head and face a bloody mess. He called an ambulance, which took his 30-year-old wife to a local Urasoe City hospital.

There, doctors diagnosed the comatose woman with a subarachnoid hemorrhage aneurysm. Police were summoned by paramedics and hospital personnel to question the husband. Asked if he beat his wife, he responded “Sure, I did.” Tears in his eyes and crying, the 25-year-old shop worker said he didn’t know he’d hurt his wife so badly. Police have arrested the man on assault charges.
