Two die in mysterious Urasoe City car crashDate Posted: 2005-09-29 Police summoned to the area near Camp Kinser, in Urasoe City’s Irijima new town, found tragedy. The car had plunged through an iron guard rail, over a seawall embankment, then crashed down into the murky waters. Inside the vehicle, police found two men trapped. Ambulances were summoned, but medics and doctors pronounced both men dead. The driver, Hiroshi Higa, 54, and passenger Seikichi Nago, 49, were found in their seats, seat belts fastened. Police say they think it was an accident, but wouldn’t rule out a possibility of foul play, saying they will continue their investigation. The car’s out of control trip through the fence and over the concrete retaining wall probably happened in darkness, but police can’t say why. The investigation revealed one witness who claimed to have heard a big “bang” noise from the same area as the car was found, a few minutes before the car was found, but couldn’t add any detail. |
