Weekend IT Expo expected to attract tens of thousands

Fifty companies are spearheading an IT Expo this weekend at the Okinawa Convention Center.
Led by the NTT group, the companies are working with the Ryukyu Shimpo and the Okinawa Prefecture to focus attention on IT needs. The Expo runs Friday and Saturday from 10am to 6pm. Admission is free.

Saturday afternoon’s highlight will be a three-hour IT Strategy Forum beginning at 1pm. Topics include the current status of IT business, the impact of broadband on communications, new uses of IT, and the affects of the Blog Generation.

Two other seminars are expected to draw significant numbers. A Friday afternoon NTT-sponsored program on web based home businesses begins at 1pm. Saturday afternoon at 3pm there’s be a WillCom-sponsored “Reversal Strategies” seminar. Both will be in Japanese.

Others supporting the IT Expo are all major Okinawa media, Naha City, Nago City and host Ginowan City.
