Three young men heroes in two separate rescue efforts

Five Okinawans are alive today because of the heroic efforts of three company employees who were in the right place at the right time, and who cared about people. Some are calling their efforts ‘a kind of miracle’ as they twice rescued people and saved their lives. Praise is lavish across the island for the men, who work for Marine Leisure Company. A beach accident July 15th at Motobu Town’s Sesoko Beach set the wheels in motion. A mother and daughter had apparently drowned, but the men raced onto the scene and applied artificial respiration and chest massage measures that brought the two back to life. They recovered in a local hospital and are now home. Motobu Police were thrilled with the men, and invited them to visit August 1st to receive an award. The three were driving to Motobu when they witnessed a traffic accident in front of a police station. A car had crashed across the median and smashed into a coconut tree. The three leaped from their car and raced to the accident site, where they found a woman trapped and unable to breathe. She was turning blue, and the men opened her mouth and took actions to move her tongue so she could breathe. They also ministered to the other two occupants. By the time fire rescue officials arrived, the woman was breathing near normally. She’s very well and happy now, hospital officials report.
One of the rescuers brushed off the praise, saying “we don’t want to see accidents, but if we do see one, and if we know how to rescue people, that’s a great thing.” He said “I hope a lot of people would learn how to rescue people. It is not difficult.”
