Magic mushrooms outlawed

So called magic mushrooms that are widely, and legally, sold in shops and on streets in Japan became illegal on June 6. According to Okinawa Prefecture Police, street vendors especially in Mihama and Kitamae areas in Chatan Town, have sold the mushrooms. The mushrooms have hallucinogenic effects and have been especially popular among young people. Despite of having been legal in Japan the mushrooms are considered illegal drugs in the U.S. The new law makes selling and eating the mushrooms illegal.
