American restaurant to honor U.S. servicemen with specials

An American restaurant chain operating in Okinawa is offering specials at three of its units near the bases.

Sam’s Restaurants is celebrating it’s 35th anniversary, which happens to coincide with America’s Independence Day. July 1~4 three of the company’s popular dining spots will be serving up steak and seafood specials designed to tantalize taste buds.

The Hawaii-born company is offering a Shrimp Trio at the Sam’s By the Sea Awase for only ¥1,980. Dinners at Sam’s come complete with soup and salad, choices of breads, vegetables and the entrée’. Just looking at the presentation on the plate whets the appetite.

Sam’s Café just outside Camp Foster’s Legion Gate is offering a combination seafood dinner and tenderloin steak. The anniversary special price is ¥2,100. Not to be outdone, Sam’s Anchor Inn in Ginowan on Highway 58 is offering a sumptuous spread with jumbo prawns and tenderloin steak for only ¥3,450.

The restaurant chain has operated in the islands for 35 years, and is both American owned and operated. Company officers stress their philosophies which include quality service, American portions, and a touch of Asia with its ‘no tipping’ policy.
