Two sailors to go on trial in the death of Navy dental technician

Date Posted: 2005-06-24

The February murder of Navy Seaman Adam Palecco now has two more fellow service members charged with his death.

The pair, Seaman Robert L Person, Jr, and Seaman Tiffany Marie Brooks are facing separate courts martial at Camp Foster. In addition to murder, they two are charged with larceny in the death, which allegedly was done to prevent Palecco from testifying in a shoplifting case. Person and Brooks are assigned to the Navy Dental Center at Camp Hansen, while the victim was with the Camp Hansen Dental Clinic.

Both sailors have waived their rights to pretrial hearings, and sources say both are expected to plead guilty to the charges. A third service member charged in the case, Marine Lance Corporal Jessica Jenkins, and a fourth, Seaman Audley G. Evans, are facing charges ranging from murder to assault.

Sources say the four thought Palecco was about to “give them up” during his own court martial on shoplifting ring charges at Kadena earlier in the year. Palecco was to appear in court the day after he was murdered and his body dumped in a drainage ditch.
