Nurse charges dentist boss with sexual harassment

Date Posted: 2005-03-25

She says he did. He says he didn’t.

That’s the issue now in a Naha Courtroom as a nurse working at a local dentist’s office says he sexually harassed her. “No I didn’t do anything sexual,” says the doctor. “It was an agreed upon relationship. She did agree with me.”

Not so, says the nurse. “No, I didn’t agree with him. He told me ‘it is a business meeting and you must stay with me and study more about dental things’. He was insistent to have a relationship with me.”

The woman is now circulating fliers and giving them to passers by. The papers question how bad a doctor the dentist is. She’s handing them out to people in front of the dental clinic.

The doctor is crying foul, and asking the court to stop. Naha District Court was told “she should stop giving the fliers to people, because she is writing lies, not truth. It is bad things about me. It’s defamantion.” The court agreed, and has told the woman to stop.

Her lawyers say “No, this determination is wrong and we have freedom of expression. Justice should not be a restriction of freedom.” The lawyer said he’s applying reasonable objections. The complaining nurse says the flier tells everything that happened to her, and asks people to attend the public sessions at the courthouse. She contends it’s all truth.

Attorneys for the doctor say her actions are unfair. “Yes, the flier says the dentist did sexual harassment, and that he’s still treating patients. The charges are untrue.”
