Former cabinet member and Okinawa Area Director Toshio Adachi, and nonfiction writer Kazuma Yamane drew attention to Okinawa, saying “now we need to find out what kinds of businesses that will attract investors. SCIVAX President Takumichi Maeshiro proposed that “venture businesses in biotechnologies and health may be the best. There are a lot of products in Okinawa for investment.” He says “there are future plans to allow most businesses on Okinawa, most of which are small and medium size, to become investment goldmines.”

The Governor, for his part, called on potential investors to “see the Okinawa which is changing very well. We now have a chance to make changes for the better.” Inamine pointed out there are many investment opportunities in the Prefecture now, including Japanese investors wanting to tie into Okinawa made products such as awamori, salts and water. He says soon these products will be shipping to even American markets, and encouraged people to invest in awamori.
