Trash eliminator wins Industrial grand prizeDate Posted: 2004-11-05 Kenji Fukutomi, president of Tomas Engineering Company in Urasoe, won the grand prize for his automatic garbage incinerator at the Okinawa Industrial Festival. He’d made the entry in the “Discovery Idea” category. “It’s kind of a small one”, Fukutomi says, “and doesn’t have to be registered. It can be used in a residential setting, like in a backyard. It works by itself.” He says all garbage, including rubber tires, can safely be burned in the unit without generating any smoke or dioxin. At the Industrial Fair, people tried burning the garbage by themselves, and were surprised with the results. “it works so well. We started to put the garbage in the machine,” said one viewer, “and all the garbage burned automatically. You didn’t have to touch anything.” Fukutomi says they’ve already received orders for 11 of the machines. He encourages anyone tired of bagging garbage into the traditional plastic bags should call him at 090-5294-5384, to learn more. |
