Ideas, input sought from military and international communities

Date Posted: 2004-10-01

Okinawa City wants to build a new community multi-purpose center, and they want to do it right.
The new facility, to be built on the site of the former Koza Health Center, is targeted to multi-cultural international audiences in this central Okinawa City. The Okinawa City Town Management Section is looking for participants to attend a meeting to discuss ideas for the new facility.

The Japanese Ministry of Defense has agreed to pay for construction on the new building, on the condition that members of Okinawa’s international and American military communities are involved in the planning.

The meeting will take place on Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. at the Okinawa City Office. Because of limited space, the number of participants is limited to 10 persons. Some spoken Japanese ability is a plus.

For more information and to register, call Yuriko at 090-7294-7509 or fax 934-5616 in English of Japanese.
