Missing safe a mystery to cops

A consumer credit company had its office safe heisted a few days ago, and police haven’t a clue as to what happened.

The safe disappeared from Sala Kin Company in Ameku district of Naha. Inside, say company officials, was ¥1,800,000. The safe itself weighs 128 pounds and cost ¥3,420,000. Also stolen were three expensive watches inside the safe.

The company office, which grants instant loans to consumers, was open Sept. 10 until 11pm. At closing, the safe was locked.

It was missing the following morning, but there were no windows or doors broken or showing signs of forced entry.

Police say they’ve no idea, but are continuing their investigation with company officials.
