Rules to separate adult magazines not followedDate Posted: 2002-05-03 The survey shows that of 544 bookstores that sold adult magazines, only 60 percent had set up an ?adults-only? area for them. The 24-hour convenience stores were the worst as none of them separated the adult magazines from the rest of the store. Most cited the shop?s small size as the reason when questioned. Video shops turned out with much better record. Of the 124 shops surveyed, 93 percent had adult videos and DVDs for rent or sale, and all of them had a separate area for them. The survey also covered karaoke houses. According to prefectural rules they are not allowed to let minors under 18 to enter after midnight, but only 84 percent had a sign stating the rule. Officials say most of minors staying out late, spend their time in or outside 24-hour convenience stores and parks. |
