Shots fired at local Pachinko parlor

Date Posted: 2004-06-04

Bullets flew into an Okinawa City pachinko parlor last week, but nobody knows why. Police are investigating the May 27th incident, in which shots were fired at the pachinko parlor in Takahara. They believe the shots were fired from a .38 caliber handgun. Three shell bullets were found.

Officials are investigating, but think the incident may be the work of more than one individual. They’ve talked with the pachinko company owners in mainland Japan, asking if they’ve had any problems or troubles. The owners say they haven’t.

Witnesses say they heard sounds of a motorcycle engine the night of the incident.
