A large Tokyo-based funeral parlor operator is offering to arrange to scatter ashes of a deceased loved one over Mont Blanc Mountain in France, the first such service in Japan. The deal includes air travel and accommodations for the bereaving family in Chamonix, France, a memorial service, and a helicopter flight over the mountain to scatter the ashes. The family will also receive a certificate and a memorial coin depicting the deceased. The first customers of the service are scheduled to leave Tokyo on June 3.
