Date Posted: 2004-04-29

Marine Corps Community Services Okinawa, Japan, will be hosting a Children, Youth, and Teen Program Job Fairs from 9 a.m. until noon, Tuesday, May 4, at the Globe & Anchor Enlisted Club on Camp Foster.

The Children, Youth, and Teen Program job fair will be offering on-site interviews, and possible on-the-spot hiring for attendees who have submitted their applications online prior to the job fair.

One of the largest issues facing working parents here on Okinawa is reliable child care. It takes a very special individual to nurture and care for peoples’ children day by day. MCCS is currently in search of very special people to work within their Children, Youth, and Teen Programs who not only care deeply about kids, but understand the importance of childcare in a military community.

MCCS is urgently seeking child care professionals and currently has many vacancies for GS-09 Training and Curriculum Specialists, GS-05 Child, Youth, and Teen Program Technicians, GSE-02/03/04 Program Assistants in Child Development Centers and School Age Care Programs, and NF-01/NF-02 Recreational Aides/Assistants to work in the youth and teen centers. If you care about children and have their development, future, and best interest at heart, then you’re exactly the type of warm, caring, child care professional MCCS wants on their team.

Not only do MCCS child care providers offer a tremendous service to fellow military families, they’re also given many opportunities for professional development and career advancement. Child care providers receive valuable training and module certification that may transfer to their next duty station. This is a wonderful opportunity to become part of a growing profession and increase your child development knowledge and skills. MCCS also offers competitive salaries and a complete benefit package including a 401(k) retirement plan and tuition reimbursement.

MCCS is looking for high school graduates (18-years or older) who read, write, and speak English; have a high school diploma or GED, and a sincere desire to work with children To apply for positions within MCCS, visit NAF-HRO, Bldg. 5710 on Camp Foster. MCCS is also seeking certified Family Child Care providers. This option gives people an opportunity to earn an income while caring for children in the comfort of their government quarters. What better gift could one offer to the community than providing quality care to children, youth, teens, in addition to offering their families a well-deserved helping hand?
