Special seminar set for teachers teaching Japanese students English

Foreigners learning English will have more skilled instructors as Longman Seminars for Teachers of English to Children brings its program to Okinawa.

A Sunday seminar will offer skills and presentation ideas under guidance of Katherine MacKay, Senior Marketing Executive for Longman ELT, Pearson Education Japan. The seminar is split into two programs, “Adventures in English” and “Children Love Stories”.

The program is being held at the Oroku Jichikaikan, 7151 Oroku. Admission is ¥500, and no advance registration is required. Information on the program is available at 03-3391-1387, or by email elt@pearsoned.co.jp.

The morning session, 10:30 a.m. ~ 12:30 p.m., spotlights Adventures In English, using the latest in children’s materials. The afternoon session, 2 ~ 4 p.m., covers Children Love Stories, and includes training and tips on games and activities, songs and role playing, storytelling and reading to students.

To reach Oroku Jichikaikan, travel east on Route 7 New Road from Naha. After passing the Family Mart, turn left at the second traffic light and follow the road past the tombs to the building.
