Newly opened in Ginowan City, Seaside Story restaurant offers a wide selection of reasonably priced sushi, from classic Edo-style to unique rolls. Dishes of the day made from local seasonal ingredients as well as a large array of beer, awamori, sake, wine and soft drinks are featured in the evenings. Operating for barely a month, Seaside Story has already developed a large foreign following, with delicacies such as California and salmon rolls delighting taste buds of all nationalities. The restaurantís culinary genius shines through in its creation of unique sushi rolls such as a concoction of fried chicken, spicy Korean miso, kimchi and mayonnaise rolled with rice and seaweed.

Seaside Story offers a chance for everybody -- from first-timers to long-time sushi lovers -- to enjoy a new taste experience not found anywhere else. Of course, you can enjoy authentic Edo-style sushi at the counter by ordering directly from the chef (•200 for two pieces) and flushing it down with a cup of hot green tea; the essence of Japanese culture.

The restaurant also welcomes sushi parties from •2,000 per person (excluding drinks) in a huge party room that can easily accommodate more than 50 people. An additional •1,500 per person buys all drinks for two hours. Seaside Story is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch, featuring several items such as the Sushi Lunch Set (•700), and from 5 to 11 p.m. for dinner. They also offer a luncheon buffet that features sushi, curry and a large variety of other dishes.

Bring this paper and get a free beer or soft drink when you order more than one dish. From Naha take Route 58 in the direction of Chatan. Turn left at the first signal after passing the Isa intersection in Ginowan City. After driving 500 meters, the Isa Sewage Management Office will be at the end of the street. Turn right just before the entrance and drive another 500 meters. Seaside Story is on the right. For more information, call Seaside Story at 098-890-1150. Major credit cards are accepted.
