K-1 Burning 2004 comes to Okinawa

K-1 sports enthusiasts are marking their calendars for February 15. Thatís the day when K-1 fighters face each other at the Okinawa Convention Center in Ginowan City. The tournament marks the popular sportís first event of the year.

A part of the K-1 Japan Series, the event will feature seven K-1 Rules bouts on the card, with fighters facing off from two camps: Team Japan, which will be captained by Bob "the Beast" Sapp meets Team World, which will be led by former sumo Grand Champion Akebono.

The matchups are still being finalized, but fighters expected to participate are Remy Bonjasky, Toa, Montanha Silva, Butterbean, Shannon Briggs, and Stefan Gamlin for Team World; and Musashi, Tsuyoshi Nakasako, Hiromi Amada, Yusuke Fujimoto, Nobu Hayashi and Masaaki Miyamoto for Team Japan. All fighters and special guests are subject to change.

The fights begin at 3 p.m. with venue doors opening an hour earlier. Tickets range from the super ringside seats at Y23,000, to ordinary seats at Y6,000. Tickets are on sale at Tickets PIA and Lawson convenience stores. They are also available on line at K-1 official site www.k-1.co.jp and FEG official site www.feg-jp.com.
