A fantastic time was had all around by over 60 children from the 6th Grade classes of Mr. Renquist from Kadena Elementary School and Takeshima san from Shimabukuro Elementary School. The Okinawa Kids Discovery Kingdom held a cultural exchange Christmas party for the two classes on Friday 19th of December, 2003.

The children participated in various activities including a fishing competition on the lake, a hands on petting zoo quiz and a T-shirt design contest. The U.S. children designed their own T-shirts writing their names in Hirigana while the Japanese children used the Phoenician alphabet. Prizes were won for all of the events including the biggest and most fish caught!

"It was a great opportunity for the two cultures to mix and most importantly for the children to enjoy themselves, we look forward to the official opening of the discovery center next year", said Nishikawa san, CEO of the Okinawa Kids Discovery Kingdom Foundation.
