Nago Summit Promotion Council Wants Ideas for Poster Design

Date Posted: 1999-12-24

Between December 20th and January 31st, the Nago Citizens’ Summit Promotion Council will accept poster designs for the G-8 Summit. Only students from kindergarten to high school in Nago City are allowed to participate in this poster design contest. All kinds of artistic material, such as color markers, color pencils and crayons, and all methods of design, such as drawing, painting and cutout pictures will be accepted. However, the contesting poster designs should not have any words or phrases on them. The designs cannot be returned to the applicants once submitted to the office.

The special selection committee of Nago Citizens’ Summit Promotion Council will determine the winners. Prizewinners of the contest will receive their prizes directly. Their names will also be published in the monthly Nago City pamphlet, Shimin-no-Hiroba. And they will be commended with the Nago City Mayor’s Prize. The winning posters will be used to design the official Kyushu Okinawa Summit poster. Some trimming and amendments might be performed on them to assure that they really represent the spirit of the event.

To participate in this contest, draw or paint a poster on the back of an exclusive application post card and fill out the blanks on front of card with your name, address, name of the school, grade and home phone number, and then send or bring directly to Nago Citizens’ Summit Promotion Council.
