"Eddy 2" scheduled for this weekend

Following on the phenomenal success of last month’s Park Avenue event called “Eddy”, organizers have decided to go ahead with “Eddy 2”, scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday at, not surprisingly, Park Avenue in Okinawa City.

Similar to Eddy 1, this weekend’s event offers something “Free, Exciting,” and “Okinawan.”

The main attraction is the flea market dubbed “108 Flea Market”. More than 100 tenants will line for business along Park Avenue shopping arcade from noon to 8 p.m. both days. But despite the rush for booths, there is still room for more vendors. If you would like a booth at the flea market, please call Mabel at A.I.L. Corporation at 957-3111 or fax 956-9455.

The BMX & skate contest is the “Exciting” part. On the "Korinza" shopping mall rooftop, the BMX & skate free riding contest will be held Saturday, with the final competition on Sunday. The competition is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. both days.

A street musical performance will add to the festive atmosphere, and will include traditional Japanese sounds and jazz.

And finally the “Okinawan” parts. A variety of Okinawan entertainment including an Eisa-dance performance and children’s musical can be enjoyed at stages setup around Park Avenue.
