Okinawa Military Lodge #68 Donates Toys for Tots

Date Posted: 1999-12-17

On Wednesday evening (December15th), there were smiles on the faces of children at the Nagomi Orphanage that lies not far from Camp Schwab. The Okinawa Military Masonic Lodge #68 donated to the poor children living there $700 worth of Christmas toys. The donation was made under the Toys for Tots drive, a project initiated by the Marine corps. The Lodge, which has about 50 members from all branches of the service, had sent out a powerful shopping team on Tuesday, December 14th at noon, under the leadership of WM Daniel R. Poole, assisted by GSgt. Pearl Turner. They bought several boxes of toys at the Kadena Toyland that they transported by themselves to the orphanage. Military Lodge #48 is calling on all to donate clothes, food and toys to this orphanage, which is considered to be one of the poorest in Okinawa.
