How many wishes, dreams, desires, or fantasies do you have? That many ... really? Well, here’s a great opportunity to expel some into the far reaches of space.

As part of the “Russian Space Fair,” the Okinawa Russian Space Fair Executive Committee is presently accepting one million messages, scheduled to be included among high-tech gear on a satellite scheduled for a launch from Russia as early as the end of this year.

One million messages from all over the country including three thousand messages for those victims of the Battle of Okinawa will be kept in a CD-ROM and released into space by the astronauts. Once they have received one million messages, which by the way cost ¥1,000 each, applications will close. So be quick.

The "Russian Space Fair" is an exhibition being held at "Nijyu-isseiki-no-mori" in Nago City to offer people in Okinawa an opportunity to feel the majesty of the universe and the marvelous development of space technology.

At the fair, the actual size of the space devices, from space probe to space suits, are on display. Visitors are welcome not only to take a good look around, but to actually touch the exhibits and ask questions to English-speaking Russian astrophysicists.

The demonstrations, which show how astrophysical studies are conducted on our own Moon and one of Earth’s nearest neighbor’s Mars, are the main attractions. Moonrover, or "Luna 21" landing demonstrations and rocket launch demonstrations are performed 10 times daily during the fair.

The Fair opens from 9 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 19. Admission fees are ¥1500 for adults; ¥900 for children.
