Potted Plant Thief Caught in Ginowan

A 44-year-old man, suspected of having stolen plants in Ginowan City, was arrested by Police on December 8th after midnight. The alleged theft incident happened on December 8th, about 12:20 AM. The suspect sneaked into a house in Futenma, Ginowan City, and stole a Bonsai (potted plant), valued at ¥15,000, from the garden, and fled from the site.

The police received an information about the robbery in Ginowan City dispatched investigators out immediately. As task force police officers from the Prefectural Police Headquarters searched for the thief, one of the officers fell on the man with Bonsai in his hands. He found the man suspicious and questioned him. Following this officer’s questioning, the man who was arrested confessed that he was the one who had committed the robbery. Later, the police confirmed that the Bonsai the suspect was caught with, and the one robbed from the house in Ginowan City, are in fact the same one.
