Whut Entertainment Delivers Another Ladies Lock-Up

Whut Entertainment, in association with Big Country (Cornelious Weldman), are already famous names in Okinawa for having organized events such as The Players’ Ball, Pajama Jam and Ladies Lock-Up. Torii Station's Coral Cove, for most of the time, was the main scene for those events.

Well, Whut Entertainment has undergone a face-lift; out with the old and in with the new. It no longer suffices for them to simply host some of the outlandish events held previously. The new face-lift means more reputable parties with class and sophistication, better planning, better organization, and real business.

Recently, Whut Entertainment’s CEO, Franchon talked to Japan Update about his future plans and goals. He said his company is one that wants to deal with music in every aspect. In the future they plan to release several albums with artists such as The Pham and Phaze. Disc Jockeys like Hi-Five, Enigma, Destruction and Nasty "E" may also benefit from Whut Entertainment’s managerial ability.

Franchon co-founded Whut with DJ Hi-Five. Now he is in charge of the enterprise’s management. He likes to speak well of Bowman, the contracting specialist who helped them to propel Whut to higher heights. Whut Entertainment's goal for the upcoming New Year is to bring a variety of pleasurable affairs to the island, in the hope of establishing itself as a major force in the industry. Franchon and co-owner Hi-Five have been through many changes in the past, and they always seem to succeed in all they do. They used to do simple club parties around the island for fun, but they are now into serious business.

According to Whut Entertainment’s managers, they are simply "Giving the people Whut they want." They say many ladies have asked for more Ladies Lock-Ups. So, true to their own doctrine, they have one coming up soon. November 24th and 25th will be another Ladies Lock-Up night at the NBC Hall. Tickets are $30/¥3000. That charge may sound pricey, but take note of the package that comes with the price. Roses to the first 100 ladies, a bottle of champagne on most of the tables, complimentary Hors d’oeuvres, and, ladies… the after party!

With a ticket stub, entry is free, without it one must pay $10.00. So, husbands and boyfriends, meet your ladies there. For the 24th the after party will be held at Foster's Globe and Anchor. For the 25th, the after party will be at Kadena's Banyan Tree. This event is for the ladies only. According to Franchon’s own words, "for the entire night, the ladies will have our undivided attention.” He says waiters will cater to all of the women’s most intimate needs.

“We really need to take care of our ladies,” the man says, with an enigmatic air of seriousness. “When they walk in through the doors, we want them to automatically feel that they are important. If we could afford it we'd have a ladies Lock-Up every weekend."

What is on Whut Entertainment's roster for the millenium? Franchon lists comedy, R&B, a Jazz Heritage concert in February, a male lock-up and something for the children in April. CD releases from various artists on the island are also on program."

Directions to NBC Hall: From Gate 2 Kadena, keep straight up the street, go through 4 signals passing the police station on the right. Make a right at the Nisseki gas station and the NBC hall is on the right. For information on the Ladies Lock-up, call Whut Entertainment at 090-3790-2187. Japan Update is giving out 4 free tickets for the event - 2 for the show on the 24th and 2 for the 25th. Email to update@japanupdate.com or fax 934-5690 (with name, address and phone number) to win.
