Brutal Neighbor Arrested for Violence

Date Posted: 1999-11-19

On Sunday, November 14th, at 12:35am, a 40-year-old man who lives in Naha City was arrested the charge of inflicting bodily harm to a 54-year-old woman. The suspect and the victim of this incident live in the same apartment complex in Naha City, the same scene where the incident happened. On the day, the arrested man had a supposedly groundless suspicion his neighbor had made a big noise when she opened the window of her apartment. He then got mad at her. Then he brought a porcelain bowl from his room and started arguing with her over the noise that he misconstrued had originated from the woman. As he approached the woman’s room, he found her in the corridor in front of her room. Then he suddenly threw the porcelain bowl towards her. The bowl did not hit her directly, but it dropped onto the ground and broke into pieces. One of the pieces of the bowl flew and hit the lady on her leg.

Naha City Police dispatched police officers to the site instantly, after they received an emergency call from the victim. At the time the police officers reached the site, the suspect was still quarreling with the injured lady’s son. During questioning, the man admitted having caused harm to the lady and was arrested by the police. The scar on the woman’s left leg will take about one week to heal.
