Manís Suicide Witnessed by Passerby

On November 2nd, at 21:12, a 30-year-old man who had attempted suicide at Baten Fishing Port in Sashiki Town was pronounced dead at the hospital he was taken to. On that day, around 18:13, a man who was taking a rest sitting in his car at Baten Fishing Port heard weird noises that sounded as if something had dropped into the water. He got out from the car to check. Then he saw a car sinking into the water with a man on the driverís seat. He immediately called for rescue. The rescue office received emergency notification from the eyewitness, and the rescue crews rushed to the site within 25 minutes. The rescue crew took the man out of the car. However, at the time he was saved from the water, he had lost consciousness. When the incident first occurred, the Yonabaru Police was investigating it as a murder or accident case. Now, they are treating it as a case of suicide.
