6th Okinawa Prefecture-Fukien Summit this Weekend

From October 20th to 22nd, the 6th Okinawa Prefecture-Fukien Summit will be held in the conference room and lecture hall of Okinawa Prefectural Office in Naha City. This eventís purpose is to deepen cross-cultural understanding and to promote the economic exchange between Okinawa and Fukien region in China that has existed for the last 600 years.

20 people, including interpreters, will visit Okinawa to attend this summit from Fukien in China. 46 people from Okinawa will attend the conference, which will be given the form of subcommittee meetings. The participants from Okinawa Pref. and Fukien region will be divided into five subcommittees of Agriculture and Fishery, Commerce and Traffic, Science and Culture, Sanitary and Environment and General Interchange. On the last day of the conference, they will announce the conferenceís joint resolutions. This Okinawa Prefecture-Fukien Summit will fall during the period of the 23rd Okinawa Industrial Festival. The officers of Okinawa Pref. Government have used the occasion to invite economic professionals to the Industrial Festival, so that they can hold business discussions together.

Besides, the Fukien-China Fair will be held at the event plaza in front of Palette Kumoji Building, Kenmin Hiroba, from 10:30 to 19:00 from October 20th through 24th. (On the last day, 24th, the fair will be over on 18:00)

At this fair, people can buy special products from the region of Fukien, and there will be a special performance by the Chinese Youth Troupe.
