Prefecture Police Holds Meeting Okinawa City Residents

On October 15th, Okinawa Pref. Police Headquarters held a meeting with local residents of Okinawa City in order to discuss the police’s works during the upcoming G-8 Summit Meeting. The police gathered inhabitants’ requests and opinions.

This is the second meeting between the chiefs of police headquarters and the local residents of Okinawa City. High level representatives from the Prefectural police; Prefectural Police Chief, public relations, traffic, and security divisions all took part in the meeting. The head of the Okinawa City Police and his deputy also attended to the meeting with 15 local residents.

Prefectural Police Headquarters is planning to have this kind of meeting with local residents of Okinawa all over Okinawa, including the isolated islands, next February.

The Public Relations Officer announced that they have already determined to hold meetings with inhabitants at Kaihou Kaikan Hall on 20th of October, at Ginowan City on 10th of November and at Nago City on 29th of november. The officer also used the opportunity to ask the local residents of Okinawa to give their opinions so that they can ameliorate their works and plans. They also wanted all local inhabitants to understand that some inconveniences will come up during the Summit in Nago City, mostly because of strict guards by police.
