Futenma Flight line Festival has excitement for everyone

Date Posted: 1999-10-19

Check out what's happening this weekend, October 16 and 17, at Futenma, where a dazzling aviation display will put you up-close to the aircraft used by the men and the women of the United States Marines and Air Force. There will also be displays by the Japan Air Self Defense Force, and the Blue Sky Paragliding Club will be introducing ultra-light planes to all flight hobbyists.

After you're through with the incredible flying machines, enjoy the day eating to your heart's content at the many different stalls, which will be selling plenty of American and Japanese style food.

This year, Futenma has an incredible lineup of entertainment, starting with "Zion" at 4 p.m. on Saturday, followed by "JET" at 5:30 p.m. The "Dave Ralston Band" will then take over at 7:30 p.m., before this year's main attraction, "Sister Hazel," takes the stage at 9 p.m. for what promises to be a blow-out performance. The great music will continue on Sunday with "8 Ball" at 4 p.m., followed by "Cry Wolf" and "Kween."

All of the entertainment is for free, including the Sister Hazel concert, and the festival is open to everyone.
