"Bang Holiday 99' joins the best in Ska-Punk and Hard-CoreBy: Kenny Ehman Date Posted: 1999-07-30 The Ska- Punk and Hard-Core music craze has propelled bands like Kemuri and Scafull King to the top of Japan's underground music scene. Their blend of hard-hitting music has gained both bands a huge following in many of Japan's live houses, creating a new wave of original sound for young Japanese fans. Kemuri also helped to introduce many Americans to their brand of rock music when they toured the U.S. for seventy seven days, playing at small clubs around the country. If you are wondering what Ska-Punk and Hard-Core are all about, you can expect some very hard and fast-paced music with plenty of jumping and dancing out in the audience. The music is friendly and does not evoke the violent type of "thrash" dancing that occurs at many Hard-Core rock performances in the U.S. Leave your kicks and punches home for this one, but be prepared to have some crazy fun! Sun Marina's outdoor stage will add an extra bit of energy for those looking to have a good time during the four hour and thirty minute music blow-out. Tickets are now on sale at Hambi Book Box and Naha's Tower Records for ¥3,500. You can also buy tickets at the door for ¥4,000. Entrance into the concert area will start at 3 pm. To get to the Sun Marina Resort, head north on highway 58 from Kadena towards Onna Village. You will pass the Renaissance Resort and Moon Beach before coming upon Sun Marina on your left . |
