Man attempts robbery at coffee shop

A man in his 20’s or early 30’s entered a coffee shop in Awase screaming something with a knife in his hand, Monday. He then tried to force the 36-year old owner of the shop to hand him money from the shop’s cash register, but the owner refused.

The would-be robber then tried to slash the shop owner who put up a fight. When he managed to pull off the mask covering the robber’s face, the man turned and fled the premises on foot. The owner was slightly injured on his head and ear during the fight.

The owner described the suspect as being about 170 cm tall. He wore purple working clothes and reddish working gloves.
