German consulate-general meets with Gov. Inamine

Date Posted: 1999-09-18

German Consulate-General for Osaka and Kobe, Joseph Prizinger, met with Okinawa Governor Keiichi Inamine Monday to discuss his country’s growing interest in Japan, in particular Okinawa.

Prizinger said that immediately following the group of Eight Summit next year, he plans to support and propose a visit to the German Village in Ueno Village, Miyako Island, of the Prime Minister or the head of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

He also said that many Germans were becoming increasingly more interested in Japan’s southernmost prefecture, and commented on how warm and kind his reception to Okinawa has been. Thursday he plans to visit Nago, host site for the G8 meeting.
