Two nabbed for house invasions in Urasoe and Okinawa

Date Posted: 1999-09-10

Police arrested two men they say are responsible for house invasions in the cities of Okinawa and Ginowan last Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to police, the first incident occurred August 31 in Murokawa, Okinawa City. Suspect Kazuhide Higa, 42, was apprehended after the occupant of the residence he was trying to break into notified police, who responded quickly to make the arrest.

A day later in Nishihara, Urasoe City, Tatsuhiro Matayoshi, 31, allegedly visited his girlfriend’s apartment at about 3:25 a.m. and began knocking loudly at the door. His 30-year-old former girlfriend answered the door and asked Matayoshi to leave, but the suspect forced his way in. Police arrested him soon after.
