Prefectural Multimedia Center Opens

Date Posted: 1999-05-22

Okinawa Governor Keiichi Inamine officially opened the Okinawa Prefectural Multimedia Center Thursday, in a ceremony held at the high-tech center at Tsubogawa, Naha City. The center is part of the prefecture's plan to promote Okinawa as a growing multimedia location. Inamine said he hoped people would patronize the center and make good use of its facilities.

A small theatre where you can view 3D graphics, a computer graphics room, and web design room are all available. From June, classes will be held to teach computer graphics and basic computer skills. The center caters for individuals, schools or corporate use. Okinawa Prefecture plans to open smaller multimedia centers in Miyako and Yaeyama by 2000.
