Lynn Poulsen, Associate Director, College Admissions and Financial Aid, Utah State University, visited Kubasaki High School in March 1999, to provide college admissions and financial aid seminars for students and parents. In addition, Mr. Poulsen shared information about Utah State University Success Program. The Success Program is an integrated program of academic, social, and leadership experiences, with a support system of tutors and mentors, set in the university's living/learning environment. It is designed to enhance the student's first-year college experience, assist in the adjustment to university life and prepare students for continued academic success. It is designed to attract DoDDS students and culturally diverse students from all over the world. Two Kubasaki High students were awarded Success scholarships to Utah State University for $9,500.00, each. Another Kubasaki High School student was awarded a Success Scholarship for $7,000.00. The recipients of these scholarships were announced during the Kubasaki High School Award's Assembly on March 28, 1999.
