Restaurant Peacock celebrates 20th anniversary

Chia Ting Yung Fang and her husband loved entertaining friends over dinner so much so that they decided to spread their wings further afield and open a restaurant. The decision was a wise one as Restaurant Peacock owner Chia and her husband this year celebrate 20 years of great service and delicious meals. The Restaurant Peacock has good reason to fan its iridescent feathers. It has an amazing assortment of Chinese dishes of poultry, beef, vegetables, and seafood including shark. In order to celebrate their 20th anniversary, Chia plans to offer an All-You-Can-Eat Peking Duck special for ¥3500 from June until August. Consistency is never a problem as their chef, originally from Shanghai, is there preparing meals every day. Almost every popular regional Chinese dish is served at the Peacock. For instance, there are six lunch choices served daily and the menu changes every week. Since there are over 80 lunch dishes, you'll always get to try something new. The ¥800 lunch entrees come with steamed rice, soup, and ice tea or coffee. The special lunch of the day is ¥1000. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. The dinner menu offers the same items as the lunch menu and more. Of course Restaurant Peacock has plenty of favorites for Americans on-island, including sweet & sour pork, chicken and shrimp, cashew chicken, and beef and broccoli. But they also have a shredded beef dish cooked Szechwan style that comes with flour wraps, similar to a fajita, which is out of this world! Another appetizing dish is their egg fu yung. The Chinese-style yaki soba, fried rice, and egg rolls make it a well-balanced meal. With every dinner, Restaurant Peacock knows dessert is a must. A bowl of boiled sticky rice balls with a sweet sesame paste inside is a delectable way to end an incredible dining experience. Hours are from 11:30 a.m.- 11 p.m., with the last order taken at 10:30 p.m. Given advance notice, party rooms are available. To make reservations, call 098-897-3548. $, ¥en, Visa and MC are accepted. Directions: Go south in the direction of Naha on Highway 58. After passing Futenma, you'll see the red two-story building on your left right next to Jimmy's.
