American students attempt Mt. Fuji again

For the 21st year in succession, American students from Okinawa have been invited to participate in the K.S.K.K. International Youth Association of Japan Mt. Fuji/Tokyo Homestay Program. This year 60 students have been asked to join children from across Japan. and around the world, at Mt. Fuji. The culmination of the camping experience will be an attempt to climb Mt. Fuji, the tallest mountain in Japan. Following the Mt. Fuji camp, the American students will then spend five days in the Tokyo area as the guest of a Japanese family. K.S.K.K. is a non-profit organization authorized by the Japanese Ministry of Education. An introductory briefing to the program will be held on May 10 from 1900-2100 at Amelia Earhart Intermediate School on Kadena.
