Women's Forum To Be At Kadena AFB

Kadena Air Base, Japan- More than 70 workshops, seminars and classes will be offered during a Women's Forum scheduled for Saturday, May 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m at Kadena Air Base. Guest speakers will give presentations on professional development, health care, education, family issues, relaxation techniques, recreation, local language and culture and many others. The workshops are open to active duty and dependants. Attendance will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Leading the planning committee is Dr. Janet Bresslin-Smith (married to 18th Wing Commander Brig. Gen. James B. Smith). "This is chance to learn something new, try something out, meet someone new from our sister services," said Dr. Smith. "It will be a day of fun and growth. We hope to see everyone there." There will be a media opportunity at the Tee House Arbor, Apr. 19, at 3 p.m. to discuss the forum and opportunities available for attendees. Registration forms will be printed in upcoming issues of the Kadena Shogun and Okinawa Marine. Fees are set at $5.00 for E-4/Equivalent and below and $10.00 for all others, with an additional $7.00 fee for lunch at the conference site.
