Three U.S. Marines were killed and one other crewmember is missing after their helicopter went down in the Pacific Ocean, Maritime Safety Agency officials said Tuesday.

The Marine CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter crashed during night flying training about one kilometer east of a U.S. training facility located in Kunigami Village at about 9:45 p.m. Monday. The crew was part of the Marine Heavy-Helicopter Squadron-361, according to the Associated Press.

The Marine Corps has identified those who died in the accident as Maj. Marc L. Hohle, 38, Capt. Matthew B. Thomas, 27, and Cpl. David Saldana, 27. The missing crew member is 32-year-old Sgt. Ordulio R. Munoz III, the AP report said.

Aircraft from the Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force 33rd Rescue Squadron, plus vessels from the 11th Maritime Safety Agency, continue to search for the missing crew member.
