Body Fat Percentage

By: Jay Johnson

Date Posted: 1999-04-10

There are several methods of determining body fat, all of which provide a different result based on the methodology behind each procedure. An important point to remember is to choose one method, then stick with it. Which one is best for you? Hydrostatic is the most accurate and expensive. A tape measure is inexpensive and is used mainly by those in the 36 and above fat percentage (skin folds are difficult to grasp). Calipers are inexpensive and primarily for those in the 36 and below fat percentage (skin folds are easier to grasp), and bio-electrical is fairly inexpensive but its accuracy is questionable. If you have any fitness questions, you can e-mail me at creative-images@usa.net. Your questions will be answered in later editions of Japan Update. Remember it's your body
