Wiener Mozart Orchestra to hold concert at Naha Civic Hall

Date Posted: 1998-12-11

Classic music lovers will be in for a treat when the Wiener Mozart Orchestra will perform a New Year Concert on Jan. 22 at Naha Civic Hall. The Wiener Mozart Orchestra was established in 1986 when the Vienna Philharmonic and other wellknown Vienna orchestras joined forces. As its name implicates, the Wiener Mozart Orchestra specializes in the music of Mozart who is the only composer whose music they perform.

Another remarkable feature in the orchestraís performance is that they perform the music clad the 18th century style elegant costumes. They also have adopted the programming style of end of the Mozartís era. This will give the performance an extra authentic dimension.

The last concert the orchestra held in Japan was in 1997. The concert in Okinawa will be their sixth performance in Japan.

The concert will start at 7 p.m. Admission is •3,000 for special seats and •2,000 for general seats in advance. When purchased at door, •500 will be added to the admission. Tickets are available at Fukuhara Music Store in Goya, Okinawa City.

Japan Update will present ticket to two pairs of our readers. The tickets will be raffled among those who will send us a fax at 934-5690 or e-mail at raffle@japanupdate.com by the end of December. Do not forget to put your name and telephone number in your messages.
