Gangsters on trial for prostituting minor

Two gangsters, on trial at Naha District Court, admitted having luring an Okinawan junior high school girls to work at a mainland restaurant as prostitutes. The men admitted their guilt at a first hearing of the case. The two suspects are Katsuo Kinjo, 43, a member of a gangster syndicate in Osaka and Mitsugu Kawahira, 27, of Okinawa.

A statement by Kinjo said that his brother had asked him to introduce girls for prostitution and he and the other suspect, Kawahira, introduced two girls to the restaurant in mainland Japan knowing that they would work as prostitutes. The two men had received ¥1,000,000 in return for their introduction.
