Woman dead on street, hit and run suspected

An emergency call alerted Naha Police, Saturday, informing that a woman was lying on the street. The woman was taken to a hospital in Naha City, but she died four hours later because of a shock caused by a loss of blood.

According to the investigation by Naha Police, the victim was Chiyo Miyahira, 83. Eye witnesses told the police that they had seen a large truck running on the street just before they discovered Miyahira’s body.

The Police found the truck and its driver in Urasoe City. They are now questioning the driver in order to determine whether he had any role in the accident.
