KMS Takes Culture Fest By Storm

Members from Kadena Middle Schools were invited to participate in the the 4th Annual Okinawa Prefecture Junior High School Culture Festival at the Ginowan Convention Center this past weekend. This two-day festival showcased the musical and artistic talents of local Junior High Schools students. During the festival, KMS students made quite an impression with their local Okinawan counterparts.

During the festivalís opening ceremonies, a buzz tore through the auditorium as the KMS Chorus walked on stage. Everyone wanted to know who the Americans were. The crowd didnít have to wait long to find out. Ms. Rose Young, the Chorus Director expertly led the choir through a selection of four songs: Pei Jes, Carol of the Bells, Kiss the Girl, and So Long, Farewell.

KMS Art students, under the tutelage of Judy Crosby, also showcased their talents in calligraphy, pastels, and pen and ink drawing. Below is a list of KMS artists.
